Your Wedding Officiant

My name is Kam Hunt and I am a certified Christian counselor, a certified SYMBIS coach (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts), a sought after licensed marriage officiant and I have a my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Kings University.

I believe marriage was ordained (appointed) by God.

So what does God think about marriage? I'm glad you asked:

Matthew 19:4–6

"Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."

Healthy Marriage:

A healthy marriage is eternal. The relationship between a man and a woman is meant to be loving, intimate, and selfless. Healthy marriage is also the backbone of civilization. It symbolizes the importance of commitment, love, and mutual respect between two people. Healthy marriage is not only the foundation for a functional family, but marriage is the foundation for a strong and successful society.

What do you get when I officiate your wedding?

  • I became a vocational pastor and started officiating weddings in 2004

  • My personality is fun and light-hearted and I bring humor to break the ice during the ceremony. Your wedding day should be spiritual AND fun!

  • If you and your fiancé have not been through pre-marital counseling, I can provide that service. We walk through a systematic pre-marital course called SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts). This counseling will help you navigate the happy times ahead of you in your marriage. We can do three 1-hour sessions or one extended session.

  • I do post-counseling also. I am not just officiating your wedding and leaving... I am committed to your marriage.

  • It is customary to offer an honorarium (payment). A typical officiant's honorarium is between $200 and $400

FAQ:

Q: How long is a typical ceremony?

A: It's your ceremony, it can last 5 days if you want it to (Although, I don't recommend that) Ceremonies usually last between 10 and 35 minutes. It is all up to you.

Q: How many weddings have you officiated at?

A: I have been officiating weddings since 2004. The number is in the hundreds.

Q: Do you have a script or do you personalize the wedding ceremony for each couple?

A: I personalize the ceremony for each couple.

Q: Can we specify how the ceremony’s done?

A: It is your wedding ceremony, not mine. You can add as many elements, customs or celebrations to your ceremony. I am there to serve you, not lead you.

Q: Can we write our own vows?

A: Um...of course! Personal vows are always better.

Q: Will you attend the rehearsal?

A: Yes! If I cannot, you can type up a service order and email it to me. I'll arrive early enough to the actual ceremony to get a run-down from the coordinator.
